MiTiN – Michigan Translators/Interpreters Network

MiTiN (pronounced “mitten”) was formed as an informal network in 1991 by local Michigan translators and interpreters, and was later established as MiTiN (Michigan Translators/Interpreters Network) in 1995.
MiTiN now includes over 130 members fluent in over 34 languages. Our members are translators, interpreters, agencies, educators, and others interested in the
translation and interpretation profession. It is a Chapter of the American Translators Association (ATA), a professional society with over 9,000 members in the U.S.and abroad.
The Purpose of MiTiN
To promote the continuing education and development of interpreters and translators
To promote networking among interpreters and translators including interaction and support of like organizations
To operate a referral service through publication of a member directory and online directory available to the public
To promote and publicize professional standards and practices
To promote and support the general development of cross-cultural communication skills

Benefits

All members receive a subscription to the monthly newsletter, an open invitation to MiTiN business meetings and networking events, and access to ATA
accreditation exams proctored by MiTiN. Professional members receive a listing in the printed MiTiN Professional Members Directory and a listing on the
website.
