MING – The Medical Interpreter Network of Georgia

Features

The Medical Interpreter Network of Georgia, MING, is a non-profit organization, founded in 1999, whose membership includes medical interpreters as well as other institutions who support MING’s mission.
MING’s hope is that this will be an invaluable resource for professional health care interpreters and providers throughout the state of Georgia. This is the place where you can find a professional health care interpreter directory that can be searched by name, language or zip code, job postings and training events and announcements. You will also have access to the discussion board, a place where you can share your experiences and learn from the experiences of others.
MING’s mission is to promote equal access to health care services for Limited English Proficient individuals by supporting professional medical interpretation, and by serving as a resource for medical interpreters throughout Georgia.
Our vision is to foster and nurture a health care interpreting community that provides the highest quality of service by promoting strict adherence to national standards of practice and a code of ethics. Our goal is to become the number one support agency for the interpreting community in the southeastern United States. We will achieve this by being actively involved in interpreting community activities, providing a wealth of opportunities for continuing education, being your resource for best practices and current issues, and by forging strategic partnerships with interpreter associations in neighboring states and the National Council on Interpreting in Health Care (NCIHC).

We are committed to connecting you with the latest information in our profession.
