Remote interpreting has come a long way, but some encounters still call for an interpreter physically present. A long medical appointment, a deposition, an emotional IEP meeting, a mediation with several people in the room — these are moments where presence builds trust, where reading the room matters, and where the stakes are too high to risk a dropped connection. When on-site interpreting is the right choice
In-person interpreting earns its place in the encounters that are longest, most sensitive, or most complex, and we field interpreters experienced in each:

Why presence matters
Being in the room changes the quality of interpreting in ways that carry real weight. A present interpreter takes in the full scene — who is speaking, the body language, the document on the table, the emotion in the room — and uses all of it to render meaning accurately. For long or layered encounters, an in-person interpreter manages the flow more naturally than a screen allows, and in emotional or high-stakes settings, presence reassures the limited-English participant that they are genuinely included. When an encounter is short, routine, or unscheduled, remote interpreting is the efficient choice; when it is long, sensitive, or pivotal, on-site is worth it.
Qualified, vetted interpreters
The interpreter we send is the whole service, so we are careful about who that is. Our on-site interpreters are qualified and experienced in their settings, hold the certifications a setting requires — such as certified medical or court interpreters — and are vetted, including background checks where the venue calls for them. They follow recognized codes of impartiality and confidentiality, prepare on the matter and terminology in advance, and conduct themselves as the professionals they are, whether in a clinic, a courtroom, or a school. For recurring needs, we can assign consistent interpreters who come to know your program and people.
Scheduling and coverage
On-site interpreting takes coordination, and we handle it end to end. You tell us the date, time, place, language, and nature of the encounter; we confirm a qualified interpreter, brief them, and manage logistics, including any interpreting equipment for larger settings. We support advance bookings and standing assignments — a weekly clinic, a recurring hearing, a school’s conference week — and we identify backups for the appointments you cannot afford to miss. Where in-person coverage is impractical on short notice, we can bridge with video or phone interpreting so the encounter is never left without language support.
For larger or multi-language settings, on-site interpreting can include the equipment that makes it work: headsets and receivers for simultaneous interpreting at a meeting, or a portable system for a tour or a shop floor. We arrange and deliver that equipment alongside the interpreters, so a public hearing, a training session, or a conference runs smoothly in every language present. And because we coordinate interpreters, logistics, and equipment as one service, you have a single point of contact rather than a separate vendor for each piece — which matters most on the day, when something inevitably needs adjusting.
