The Association of Welsh Translators and Interpreters was established in 1976 to provide a forum for the discussion of issues relating to Welsh/English translation and interpreting. It is now a company
limited by guarantee, number 4741023.
Dr Bruce Griffiths and Dafydd Glyn Jones are the two Honorary Presidents of the Association. The Chairman of the Association is Berwyn Prys Jones and its
Vice-Chairman is Fiona Gannon. It is governed by a Board of Directors elected from amongst its membership.
The Association is a member of the F?d?ration Internationale des Traducteurs (FIT). FIT is an international federation of translators, interpreters and terminologists which exists to promote professionalism in the disciplines it represents.

industry develops effectively as part of the process of promoting the Welsh language and bilingualism.
